Five Screamo Lyrics that Make Us Want to Slit Our Wrists

Some people like screamo music.  Some people think that punkasses yelling incoherently into a microphone has raped the soul of music and consistently whine about it on indie music blogs.  There is nothing fundamentally wrong with either side of this argument, and I am not going to get up on my high-horse and preach my opinion at you.  Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to.  But, my high-horse recently broke his leg whilst we were on a very intense rant, and well, I had to shoot him.

However, its very rare that you can understand what these screamo bands are actually screaming, and we can all agree that some lyrics are so bad it’s probably best that we can’t understand them.  Scream in my face, you sad little bitch, because it’s much better than having to listen to whatever thoughts you are trying to express. Here are five examples to showcase this love/hate phenomenon:

Artist: Silverstein
Album:
Arrivals and Departures
Song:
  Bodies and Words

Lyrics:

This conversation always ends with goodbye.
You're standing here behind the door,
you're waiting with your rope.

You know what I like about you?  Whenever our conversation ends, you say goodbye.  You let me know that the conversation is over.  Not only is this very normal of you, it really shows that you have a good grasp of the English language.  That’s something I can respect.  Something I can really get behind.  Hey, wait, you just said goodbye… what are you doing behind that door?  Holy shit!  A mother-fucking rope! There are so many things you can do with that rope.  Rope is very versatile.
